My mom used to read me tons of stories when I was younger. My favorite story, to this day is The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. It’s about a mother raccoon and a baby raccoon and how much the mom loves the baby. My second favorite childhood book is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. This book is about how a tree loved a little boy so much that she gave everything she had and was content with the boy taking everything because he appreciated her. What are your favorite childhood books?

  1. The Spideron Says:

As a young lad, my father used to read from the fairy tales of ex-Python Terry Jones. I cannot recommend this book enough. Some of the stories are very funny, while some are downright creepy, and the illustrations are second-to-none. My aunt also read to me from Oscar Wilde’s fairy tales. I think it’s very important that parents read to their children at bedtime. Storytelling is a tradition which all humans share; it would be a tragedy if it ever died out.
